Without Bitcoin - Many of the innovations we are seeing emerge would not be happening....(actually - most of them). It is with this in mind, that keeping up to date with developments of the core protocol and overall adoption of Bitcoin is so important. Bitcoin Genesis Block - Satoshi Nakamoto published the Bitcoin Whitepaper "Bitcoin: A Peer to Peer Electronic Cash System". A few months later, the first bitcoin transaction took place.

The Bitcoin Genesis Block contains this message (taken from the front page of Times of London): "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks."
